Founded by LSU Biological Sciences student Daianna Williams, CookUpCurls is more than a natural hair line — it’s a curated experience designed for the richly textured crowns of 3B–4C hair. Every product, every drop, is crafted with intention, rooted in culture, and cooked up for real results.

The Recipe Begins: From DIY to DTC

Raised in a household where holistic living wasn’t a trend instead tradition, Daianna grew up blending beauty with wellness. Her first experiments started early, mixing up her own glosses and deep conditioners from the kitchen to the classroom. But the heat turned up when she stepped into the Bridges2Wealth pitch competition at Wharton Business School at UPENN.  Even when her team walked away, Daianna stayed in the kitchen and cooked up a solo win that sparked the first taste of what CookUpCurls could be.

The Turning Point: From Setback to Science

During her freshman year at LSU, a DIY bleach job left Daianna’s curls dry, damaged, and depleted. That moment could’ve ended in frustration but instead, it sparked a mission. She knew her hair deserved more than trial-and-error products with watered-down promises. So, she set out to develop something better: a nourishing, high-performance formula crafted with care and backed by science.

Determined to offer real results, Daianna began collaborating with a cosmetic chemist to bring her vision to life blending her holistic, natural upbringing with expert formulation. Together, they created The Complete Curl Collection intentionally designed for kinky and coily textures, using clean, effective ingredients that support growth, hydration, and long-term hair health without compromise. No shortcuts. No fillers. Just real care with clean, effective ingredients.

From a personal journey to a purposeful brand, CookUpCurls was born out of love, lived experience, and a deep desire to serve the community with real solutions.
